This unbelievable piece of TRUE late 1800’s American Folk Art is truly LARGE and AMAZING!  Never offered before.  Has been in a private collection for almost 30 years.  Came from an1800’s horse stable from Philadelphia, PA area.  Was taken down in the early 1970’s before the barn totally collapsed and basically sat in a closet for another 20 years before being given to a family member.  The horse is over 100 years old and it shows.  As the photos show it has a couple bullet holes and b.b. dings.  The surface has green verdigris throughout. There are remains of yellow sizing and very small remains of gilt underneath.  The horse is very large and definitely has the WOW factor!  it measures 44 inches long (without measuring the tail it measures almost 42 inches long)  it is 35 inches tall!  Almost 10 inches thick.  The head from behind ears to nose measures over 9 inches!  The horse shoes are zinc.  The body is obviously hollow bodied copper.  Some amazing detail.
