The Silver HK 399 Panama Pacific International Exposition – 1915
Designed by famous sculptor and commemorative coin designer Robert Aitken the obverse features a winged Mercury opening the Panama Canal locks through which passes the vessel Argo, the symbol of navigation. The Panama Pacific International Exposition held in San Francisco in 1915 was celebrating the completion of the Panama Canal. One the reverse two females representing the two hemispheres hold cornucopias above earth. Below is a seagull the official bird of the Canal Zone.
