    Asking Price: $39,895.00

    Description and Image By:  stlouiscarmuseum

Produced in very limited quantities in 1953, the new Chevrolet 2-seater sports car offering was a bit of a gamble. Not only did it pay off, the Corvette has literally become one these most celebrated and long lasting nameplates in American automotive history! The Corvette salutes its 59th year of production in 2012 continuing to outlast any other American car ever produced!

This beautifully constructed 1953 Chevrolet Corvette replica is a perfect reproduction of the very lines crafted by Zora Duntov himself! The exacting exterior detail will draw the same attention as seeing the thing! Finished in correct Polo White with a Red interior to match the original, this example far exceeds the two factory options of a heater and an AM radio with a much stronger option list of creature comforts for the passengers! This includes a GM crate 350ci TBI V8, power front ventilated disc brakes, power steering, air conditioning, 4-speed automatic transmission with Lokar shifter, and a 10-bolt solid axle rear end! Inside you will be treated to full dash instrumentation by VDO, Sony CD player with Alpine speakers& power antenna, Grant mahogany steering wheel, driver outside mirror, seat belts, door map pockets, billet a/c controls, and more!

This particular example was built by the sons of the Jegs Performance Auto Parts company for their father as a gift. The engine is a factory built GM crate unit using a 4-bolt main block, aluminum pistons, high-lift camshaft, and Rochester throttle body injection to produce an estimated 330 horsepower! The Chevrolet chassis consists of heavy-duty boxed steel frame with the similar “X” cross member structure similar to the original. Fitted with a custom stainless steel gas tank, stainless steel exhaust, and chrome trim on the flywheel cover, rear differential cover, valve covers, and air cleaner! To make this car a stellar driver for all sorts of driving conditions, it is also fitted with BF Goodrich Radial whitewall tires, a complete Painless wiring system and fuse panel, Accel ECM, dual electric cooling fans for the radiator, and an auxiliary transmission cooler! Today, this car has traveled just 4,644 miles and should still be considered nearly new throughout!

It recently participated in the 2010 and 2011 Cruisin’ the Coast along the Mississippi Gulf Coast! It drives magnificently! If you have considered owning an early Corvette, but found the lack of power, tractor-like sound, 2-speed Powerglide transmission, and overall harshness a bit unappealing for true driving enjoyment, this is absolutely the solution! This is a car you really need to witness this car in person to appreciate the quality of paint, body fitment, and drive qualities! It has always been titled as a 1953 model year Chevrolet since new. Please feel free to call with questions or to schedule an appointment to inspect this wonder replica in person!
