A True & Original 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air California HardTop

History: Daryl was after a 55′ Chevrolet for many years. He was searching thru the newspapers & visiting local car shows. His day finally came when he was flipping thru the Los Angeles auto trader. An all original 55′ Bel Air that was complete & most important, a southen California car. Daryl purchased this Bel Air on December 5, 1987. Purchased from the original owner in Orange County,California. I have the receipt & auto trader from that day still saved. Daryl became the second owner in 1987 until this day.

His intentions was onto restoring & making it a driver. A 2 year restoration process took place & he finished in 1990. That summer, he drove it to Reno, Nevada to the Hot August Nights Car Show. It was taken to other car shows & enjoyed over the next couple of summers. Years past & Daryl was using not as much as he use to. It sat in his garaged & barley was driven thru out the years.

A original & dry California 1955 Chevrolet Factory Bel Air. A Los Angeles Born & raise Chevrolet. Remains it’s factory panels & original undercarriage. The spare wheel well is in clean condition overall including the trunk pan.You would only expect it out of a Los Angeles car.

A two year restoration was done from 88′ till 90′. It was restored to look as original as it would be down to the nylon tires. Restored in two-tone “Skyline Blue-India Ivory”, a factory 55′ color combination. The interor was done to match “Light Blue vinyl-India Ivory”. All the interior was redone as well during the process. Done to original including the trim. I have a stack of records/receipts on mostly all the restoration it gone thru. Even, a few records from the original owner that goes along with the sale.

The drivetrain is a 350 V8 4 bbl, Turbo 350 Automatic. Makes it easier to drive in the summer with power steering, transmission cooler & electric fan. It was kept with it’s original brakes & generator. Has dual exhaust that sounds good & healthy. When it was restored, the drivetrain was gone thru as well. The engine runs & drives strong. Cruises on the freeway at 65mph. Shifts smoothly into all gears & brakes well. Ready to be driven all summer long.

Since being a older restoration, the chrome still shines well but not show quality. Same thought goes for the paint. A beautiful driver but keep in mind it’s a older restoration with normal wear & tear. You are bidding on a 20 year restoration Bel Air. Has a few small flaws with some chrome pitting. All the glass is in good shape & roll ups/down just fine. Has a correct working 90’s model radio that was fit correctly into the original dash. I still do have the original am radio with knobs along with a car cover. Also, comes along with a pair of Skyline Blue fender skirts. Has the original jack in the trunk with a spare. Speedometer/Odometer not working at the moment.

Overall, this Bel Air was much appreciated by the second owner. Well taken care of over the years. Still grabs plenty of attention even when not being driven.

A Bel Air California Hardtop in original condition is hard to come by, especially at No Reserve.
