This is an Early antique / vintage bicycle head light / head lamp – a Snell’s Tom Thumb, Snell’s Cycle Fitting Company, Toledo, Ohio – King of Cycle Lamps, still in original box as shown.
It has the appearance of never being lit. Also note the lack of wear to the original mounting gaskets / bushings – lamp has had limited use if any.
The side glass panels feature a shooting star and are ruby red cut to clear as shown. Glass is free of damage of any kind.
Original Japan black has scattered minor chipping. Old nickle finish has patina – easily cleaned but will leave undisturbed and in aged condition for new owner to clean if so desired.
Spring mechanism working well.
Original box has great graphics on five sides and is intact except for one corner as shown in photos.
