This is a nice original black americana toy bank.It is the Stump Speaker made by Shepard Hardware cir. 1886.To operate this one , you place a coin into the speakers hand , press the button on the side of the base and he drops it into his bag.The mouth will move for some time after.It is aprox. 10″ tall x 4 ” long x 5 ” wide. The bottom is stamped ” PATD JUNE 8 1886 PATD NOV 15 1886 “. There is the SQUARE coin door w/ key to remove the coins.The bank has very nice original paint and there is no damage to any of the cast iron.It is also in very fine working condition.
