Tonight I am listing another group of old original mechanical banks.This one is called the Reclining Chinaman and is considered rare . Made by J & E Stevens cir.1882.It is designed to ridicule the Chinese.To operate this one , you place a coin into the Chinmans pocket.Press the lever in the back and he flips his hands and shows 4 aces and the coin is deposited into the bank.You can see a rat in the bottom of the log , it represents that he is cheating .There is the round patented coin door on the bottom to remove the coins.It is stamped PATD FEB 2 1875.The bank has its nice original paint and there is no damage to any of the cast iron.It is also in very fine working condition.
