Late 19th to Early 20th Century Chinese Jadeite Snuff Bottle. Of ovoid form with a narrow profile, circular mouth rim, cylindrical neck and oval shaped raised foot. Body carved in low relief with a boy riding on a qilin with a bat flying above and a scholar riding a horse over a bridge in a landscape scene. Incised detailing to figures, animals, rocks and trees. Mouth rim is beveled slightly inward and interior is well hollowed. Natural grade A jadeite color is mottled medium green and white with some white inclusions. Yellow peking glass stopper. Fine polish to stone. Height: 6.2 cm (2.4 in)
