Rare Large and Very Impressive Antique Chinese Wall Hanging. Fine quality red silk satin ground beautifully hand embroidered with coloured and gold wrapped silk throughout.
Dating from late 19th century.
SIZE:- 300cm wide x 165 cm high. ( 118″ x 65″)
For type and great size is in remarkably good condition with usual signs of gentle wear / marks commensurate with age and use. Colours are still bright and vibrant with just central faded area and two or three less faded areas of similar size. Areas of branch decoration that have the outline and either have been unpicked or have not been embroidered for some reason. Not very noticeable as blends in with busy pattern.
