On offer here is a wonderfully preserved, perfectly operational relic of the wide open road house club days of the 1920’s and 30’s. B.C. Wills & Co. developed the highest quality dice in the late 1920’s, and went on to produce chips and a complete line of quality clubroom equipment as the 1930’s unfolded. As their product line grew, they gained a reputation for quality and in fact, their products were considered the “Cadillac” of gaming equipment—and, coincidently, their phone number in Detroit was “Cadillac 5974”.

George Weinbrenner, founder and proprietor of B.C. Wills, had a numerous interests in gaming and his contributions to gaming history were significant. Before there were Reno and Las Vegas, gambling took place in small clubs, known as road houses, where in addition to gambling, great food was served and the best bands and most famous entertainers of the day were featured. Sophie Tucker, for one, would often be found at road house clubs in the environs of Detroit, where players would often arrive in road house limousines.

It was at such clubs as Blossom Heath, the Edgewater Club, Club Royal, Green Hills, the Beach and Tennis Club, and ultimately the Nevada Club, The Mapes, and The Riverside in Reno or perhaps The Christiana in Sun Valley, where this table would have found its home.

The clubs are gone, the glamour past, the wide open days now but a footnote in history –but here a true survivor—virtually as good as the day it was delivered—ready to spin again and perhaps give up a tale or two from its glittering, high-rolling past.

Original amazingly well-preserved condition–Walnut and mahogany glows–nickel and chrome plating gleams; needs nothing but a replacement layout cloth. This is a regulation size table-8′ long with a 32″ wheel, the pride of any casino operating today.

A rare chance to acquire a true piece of history from a very colorful time.
