Old Circa 1890 Navajo Third Phase Variant Chief’s Blanket 59″x87″, Excellent Condition All Navajo handspun singleply wool yarn
in natural sheep wool dark brown, cream white,
handcarded grey and red Chief blankets are noted as early Navajo weavings which were woven on a wider-than-tall loom and have a primary banded pattern in the field; they are among the most sought after of the Navajo blankets. With medium-heavy body of wool; narrow bands in field; we have had this rug professionally cleaned; this beautiful blanket has a very striking pattern and could be displayed on the wall, floor or draped over furniture; there are a couple very small and faint stains as pictured in close-up; otherwise in excellent condition.
