Up for auction is an 1968 SCHWINN ORANGE KRATE 5 SPEED WITH FRONT FENDER , This is an all original bike along with it’s original documentation which includes bill of sale, owners manual, guarantee card, questionnaire card, and reciept for front fender purchase and installation on August 15, 1968. A knowledgeable krate bike person evaluated this bike for it’s originality and it was determined to be an original. This bike has been stored in a climate controlled environment over the years, I completly disassembled and cleaned this bike to what I think is perfection. Chrome is vibrant, rear wheel has a pen point ding, front wheel has a minor ding, frame has a few nicks you will also notice black electrical tape on springer place there by original owner to prevent scratching of frame, chain guard 3 pen point size nicks, tires are in good condition, some cracking on rear, front tire has no cracking, seat is in great shape, bottom edge does need to be tucked and resealed, pogo post is in great working order along with sissy bar shocks, head assembly repacked, cranked assembly repacked. I found wheels to be in great working order and cleaned only. Pedals cleaned and lubed, shifter is in great condition, decals are in great shape. This bike is fine tuned and ready to ride. As you look over the handlebar wheel, fender, and bar, they are all in line and firm that goes for the entire bike. It all works very nicely. My pictures do not differ, I don’t think you will find another as clean as this.
