This is about as rare as it gets in the world of Star Wars action figures; an original 1979 Kenner Villain set, unopened and sealed in an AFA acrylic case!
This is the only one of its kind I’ve ever seen, and has been the crown jewel of my collection…
Unfortunately, the cruel hand of fate has seen fit to intervene, and my car requires some expensive repair work. My loss is your gain!
Note the AFA grading, and bid with confidence; I never even removed this from the plastic bag toygrader.com shipped it in.
I’ve done my best to depict the product as accurately as possible; note the small tears where the original price tag had been removed, the rip in the lower right corner, and other shelf wear evident.
Note also that the original blister remains completely sealed, and all figures and accessories are mint and complete!
I present this to you not as a display piece, as much as an investment opportunity. With the impending release of Star Wars: Episode I in 3D next month (and the other films following each subsequent year), coupled with the continuing success of The Clone Wars on television and a live-action TV series to follow, Star Wars has never been more prominent in the public consciousness. The Blu-Ray releases broke sales records, as did the DVD releases before them; Star Wars has proven its staying power year after year, and with six more years of simultaneous TV and theatrical presence, vintage collectibles like this will only continue to increase in value.
