This lovely early teaset in the “Claremont” pattern was designed by William Moorcroft(1872-1945) .The Registry Mark dates the design to 1904,but I believe the set was made circa 1914-1916 as that was when Shreve & Co started selling Moorcroft wares.

The teaset is glazed in a translucent greenish blue with the Toadstool motif executed in the “Tube Lining” technique which is a hallmark of Moorcroft.

    There are three pieces in the set,a teapot which is,6.5″ wide,6.75″ high,covered sugar,5″ across,4″ high,and a creamer 4″ across,2.75″ high.

All pieces are in very good condition with the exception of a small chip to the underside of the lip on the creamer, which measures 1/16th” and is shown in the pictures.

All three pieces are signed W.Moorcroft in green ink and the teapot is additionally signed “Shreve & Co,San Francisco.
