An Ultra Rare, WW2, German, 8 X 60, U-boat, Commander’s Binoculars, Stamped “58” (possibly IDing them as U-58)! These binoculars were primarily used by the Captain or Commanding Officer of the U-boat while on the surface! The Commanders binoculars are extremely rare to find in any condition, these being the first that I have offered for sale! The binoculars rate good with no double vision. The right side optics have the cross hairs. The left side vision clarity rates about 7.5 out of 10, with 10 being the best. The right side clarity rates about 5, with some spotting and cloudiness. The right side, large lens, has a small chip and some bubbling. The binoculars are useable as is but would benefit by being cleaned and serviced. The binoculars exterior has been painted black at some point in the past. The right, large lens end, shows a slight dent. There is a missing screw in each of the top plates. The hinged, eyepiece cups, have been lost to time. The binoculars are stamped “58” in several places, which may possibly ID these as property of the U-58 U-boat! Overall, An Ultra Rare, WW2, German, 8 X 60, U-boat, Commander’s Binoculars, Stamped “58” (possibly IDing them as U-58)
